Understanding Grief

Coping with the loss of someone or something you love is one of life's biggest challenges.

●Grief is a natural response to loss

●It is a highly individual experience

●There is no right or wrong way

●The grieving process takes time. There is no "normal" timetable for it.

You may experience grief in these emotional stages:

●Shock: Disbelief

●Denial: This can't be happening to me.

●Anger: Why is this happening? Who is to blame?

●Guilt: Was it my fault?

●Bargaining: Make this not happen and I'll...

●Depression: Overwhelming sadness.

●Acceptance: I have learned to accept what happened.

The physical symptoms associated to grief are:

○Fatigue

○Nausea

○Lowered immunity

○Weight loss or weight gain

○Aches & pains

○Insomnia

If you are experiencing grief, it may help you to know that if you are experiencing any of this it is normal & in time you will heal.

However, it's important to know that you may experience all or none of these, they may happen sporadically & you may bounce around between them all.

Getting through Grief:

○Talk to friends & family

○Accept that seeking support may feel awkward at 1st

○Join a support group

○Talk to a therapist

It may not seem like it, but it does eventually get better.

Sending love to anyone going through this right now.

@kierra_b_art thank you for this drawing! It is the only illustration I have of my husband & I with our angel babies.

This was made before my 3rd loss, but it is important to me to acknowledge that we have 3 angel babies
