The wounds we hide

In 2019 I was hospitalized due to excessive blood loss from complications from my 1st D&C.⁣

⁣I had 2 blood transfusions to help me recover from losing 2 liters of blood.⁣

⁣I fainted at home, was picked up by an ambulance and woke up in the emergency room.⁣

⁣I ended up needing a 2nd D&C for the same pregnancy & spent the weekend hospitalized.⁣

⁣Ultimately, that was the scariest experience throughout my journey.⁣

⁣This picture was taken 1 week later!!!⁣

⁣One of my dear friends was getting married & I just could NOT/would not miss her wedding.⁣

⁣So I put on my brave face (masked by a pretty dress & some makeup) and went.⁣

⁣We ended up having to leave early because I was spotting again so we had to go to the emergency room to make sure I was ok. (Turned out it was from the recent surgery.)⁣

⁣I vaguely told the bride (my friend) what was going on (didn't want to worry her) and left early.⁣

⁣And that in a nutshell is what this journey is like for many of us (pre-covid). Unless we share, most people have no idea the battles we've been fighting.⁣

⁣That's why we're Warriors.⁣

We hide our wounds so well, that most don't even realize they are there.⁣
