The wounds we hide
In 2019 I was hospitalized due to excessive blood loss from complications from my 1st D&C.
I had 2 blood transfusions to help me recover from losing 2 liters of blood.
I fainted at home, was picked up by an ambulance and woke up in the emergency room.
I ended up needing a 2nd D&C for the same pregnancy & spent the weekend hospitalized.
Ultimately, that was the scariest experience throughout my journey.
This picture was taken 1 week later!!!
One of my dear friends was getting married & I just could NOT/would not miss her wedding.
So I put on my brave face (masked by a pretty dress & some makeup) and went.
We ended up having to leave early because I was spotting again so we had to go to the emergency room to make sure I was ok. (Turned out it was from the recent surgery.)
I vaguely told the bride (my friend) what was going on (didn't want to worry her) and left early.
And that in a nutshell is what this journey is like for many of us (pre-covid). Unless we share, most people have no idea the battles we've been fighting.
That's why we're Warriors.
We hide our wounds so well, that most don't even realize they are there.
